Although I'm imagining Al having trouble coming to grips with the fact that he's good-looking and desirable. He spent his formative years in an extremely ugly casing, after all, something the Sins made a point of hammering into his skull here: he's ugly, he's clumsy, he hurts what he touches.
Hmm. But I think that would jar Ed out of inaction; I could see him angsting over having feelings for his brother, lingering distress over the warehouse rape, fear that he somehow deliberately made Al want him, all sorts of stuff stewing around in his head, and then poof! He sees that Al is in pain and he'd want to show him how beautiful and desireable he is. And the clothes come off :)
