You know what it really is that makes me a fandom whore? It's not that I write a bunch of pairings, though I have. It's not even that I'm a perv, though I am. It's that I produce. On demand.* fma_100 gets a drabble per challenge from me. oysterverse asks for a happy fluffy foursome with kids, and she gets Menage. I attempted for four pages to write yuri for spinnyroses before admitting the result as an abomination and giving up. maboroshi_hime laments the lack of blanket fic in the fandom, and I write Versus Cold. People ask for a sequel to Embodied, and I agree. People complain about the craziness that is fm_alchemist, and I join in on kaltia's fullmetal_info project.

pellaz writes a post mourning the lack of real discussion in the fandom since the series ended, and here I am writing a discussion post. -_- I think I take this fandom too personally sometimes... whenever anyone fusses over too much of something, or not enough of something, I feel personally at fault.
So... this is basically a discussion on the homunculus. What are they -- where do they come from -- how can they do what they do -- why can't they do what they can't do? I invite you to read it if you're curious, and to contribute any ideas or theories of your own.

Please note: all of the below theories pertain to anime canon only. I only read the manga once, and I didn't pay as close attention to it as I did to the anime. And, of course, spoilers for all episodes.
