Round Robin, part 1

Okay, so, I wanted to do a round robin with people. I've written the first part of a scenario -- I hope other people will feel inspired to continue it. If you think you'd like to continue, just post in the comments that you're going to write a piece (so other people will know) and then take off! No limits! If you want to introduce other people, players, places, things, go ahead -- just so long as it bears SOME resemblance to what came before. :) And after someone else posts the next part, then another person can pick up at the next... and so on!
Please don't hesitate, guys!
Later on, after he'd forgiven Ed for all that had happened -- much, MUCH later on -- Al was willing to concede that it wasn't entirely Ed's fault.
( Al was starting to get a bad feeling about this... )
