Sakura remains cool for most of the rest of the exam--with one tiny exception that makes me want to to grab her by the ear and shake her until I remember nobody's very smart when they're twelve--and then she plateaus, and then she goes back to sucking.

But after the time skip, she gets really hot and doesn't suck any more. ::stuffs fingers in her ears so she can't hear windandwater::

I was thinking of the "lying/keeping quiet for Sasuke because he asked her to" thing. It pissed me off. Teamwork is what now? On the other hand, it wasn't spontaneous--he hardly ever talks to her or asks her for anything, so I can see why she'd find it hard to say "No, bitch! We should tell our sensei and our teammate right away so we can deal with this together!" Doing something stupid because your crush who never pays attention to you asks you for it is the specialty of hormonal adolescents.

What about when she snubbed Naruto after he saved her life during the Tea Country arc? Or what about when she said she'd "date" Naruto but ended up babbling about Sasuke? How about when she-- oh, we're only talking about DURING the Chuunin Exams.

Unfortunately. Do not expect any improvement until the time-skip (but then...BOOTS!).

Or in the case of the anime, the Rice Country filler. She hasn't sucked during that yet.

Oh, that was after the Chuunin exam. My recollection was that I started wanting to slap all the time again after the preliminary matches. Like when Naruto was in the hospital for three days and only Shikamaru came to visit? Hatred. Lee, she visits (which is way "awww!"), but not her own freaking teammate?
