chapters 46 and beyond

mikkenekoHaving caught up with the last four or five chapters of the FMA manga...
1) Wow, the manga got a whole lot more interesting when Winry left. :D
2) Needs more Ed. Yes, I know it's focused almost exclusively on Ed these past few chapters, but that's still not enough. He's still the best, brightest, most shining thing about this series. More Ed plz arakawa! And more Al. More Al and more Ed. And more Al and Ed. All the above.
3) Just when I think I might start to warm up to one of the Xingians (Ling) another of them (Mei) has to go and irritate the piss out of me. Go away, ninja people. Give us more Elrics.
4) Envy's true form, huh?
I like it.
Also, anyone who ever tried to argue ed/envy on the basis of manga characterization, because manga!envy was less of a psychopathic freak than anime!envy...

2. Oh yes. Oh dear gawd yes. Methinks I still like anime!Ed more, but manga!Ed is a whole different kind of love (dude, like, they're so the same person XD;;;). Wah. Both Elrics, both mediums, so much love.
3. Mei's kind of useless right now, and I'm really wondering what the heck her function is, but I'm sure Arakawa-sensei has... things up her sleeve. I thought her crying was too cute though X3 Didn't care too much for Ling or Ran Fan in the beginning, but I'm warming up to them.
4. Envy makes me hawt. Everything about him. I was kind of disappointed with manga!Envy because he seemed to get his butt whooped a lot, but damn, chapter 51 was so much Envy luvin' ZOMG. I need mees some EdxEnvy tentacle luv now XD Wah. The crazies. The dismember'Dies *squeeee*

...guilty. And that was before chapter 51, cut me some slack! Reading that chapter, YES he is a psychopathic freak, but he's got lotsa insecurities there! His psycho-evilness is obviously a compensation for the fact that he hates himself.
And I still like Ed/Envy better than Roy/Ed for the reasons that can be seen in this fic: http://archive.toukakoukan.com/yaoi/title/rustwithintheirthroats.html
On a different note: happily, manga!Al is less of a pushover ^__^
