If you're a member of the FMA fandom active on LJ, you've probably heard of fm_alchemist. If you're not either, you probably aren't reading this entry. It's one of the biggest Hagaren comms, and the busiest. This means that it's one of the best places to go for information, as well as an audience; if you're a new author or artist looking to get well known, this is a good place to start.

However, this also means that the comm gets a lot of posts a day, and new people can be easily overwhelmed. In addition, it's not always easy to pick out the entries you may be interested in from the rest. In addition, it's a basic rule of fandom algebra that size = wank. fm_a has turned up its fair share of times on fandom_wank.

kaltia and I have started up fullmetal_info, a filter/digest com for fm_a. Instead of dozens of posts a day, you get one post, with links to individual fm_a posts sorted into various categories. All of the fun, none of the fuss. :) If you're interested, check out the community today.

Good idea. Feel free to plug in fma_yaoi. In fact, feel free to do the same for fma_yaoi. Awesome idea because fm_a is annoying.

I don't think fma_yaoi needs a filter community. It doesn't get nearly as many posts -- sometimes it doesn't get more than one a day.

So will this include links to downloads and scans? Since that's one of the major reasons I watch the community. (The others being for fanfictions (albiet unsuccessfully) and dub reviews.)

The rest of it is frankly annoying, so a filter would be amazing. ~_~.

You can go to the comm and look for the first post, and put your suggestions there. At the moment I have a category for "anime and manga announcements," (by which I mean fansubs and scanlations, though I like to say it less illegally) fanfiction and fanart, fandom and community announcements (i.e, new comm, new site) and official announcements.
