Title: The Proper Order of Things

The little shack was rundown and ruined, hidden in the maze of Central's older slums, but that was fine. Tonight's visitors didn't care about the quality of the shelter, only how well it served their purpose... and how well it hid from unwanted prying eyes.

"So. You came," Scar greeted the person inside. From where he was perched on the edge of the musty bed, pen and notebook in hand, Edward Elric glanced up at the voice, pushing his glasses up the bridge of this nose. "I wasn't sure you would."

"Of course I came," Ed grunted, holding the pen between his teeth as he turned pages. "Not like I've got anywhere better to be tonight."

Scar nodded, accepting that, then sat on the small bed beside Ed, glancing over his shoulder at his work, then away. For a long moment, there was silence but for the turning of the pages, and then Scar finally spoke.

"Why do you always make love to me from behind?" Scar said at last, staring off into the distance. "Is it because you're trying to pretend I'm -- ...someone else?"

Ed spat out his pen, and turned to face Scar with a wild glare. "Look," he snapped, "you were the one who said that on top was a proper older brother's role so don't complain about how I go about it."

Scar considered this for a long moment, looking down at Ed with unfathomable eyes. "If it helps," he said, "there is a footstool in the next room."

Ed turned a dull red, and sputtered. "Shut up! That's got nothing to do with it! I just like you better from behind, that's all!"

"It's Alphonse, isn't it? You're trying to pretend that I'm him. That's why, with the kitten --"

"THAT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! Besides, the kitten was your own -- I don't have to explain myself to you! Get down and I'll show you just what I mean!"

"...Yes, Niisan."
